This was traditional for so long, New Years Day, we all gathered in front of the American tv to eat, drink and restore your health from New Years Eve, watching The Rose Parade followed by several institution football games, Rose Bowl, Sugar Bowl, etc…

Now, The Rose Bowl is not until the 4th and there are games all day Monday the 2nd, when only priveleged folks are off from work.

It’s on Sunday and the Broadcast networks are obligated to cover those. They try to have as small competition between the NFL and the NCAA as possible.

I dont reckon its honest for those Huge ten schools, the northern huge east schools, and Mac schools to basically never get home field advantage in a bowl game. The Rose bowl? huge ten vs pac-10, yet every year its in pasadena, which is a home game for the pac-10. Im not sayin change that one cas thats just tradition. But every bowl game is pretty much in florida, texas, and all southern states. Yah theres a few were it gets cold, like the bowl in boise, and theres one in detroit. But common, huge ten schools build there teams nearly the fact that there playing there oponents, and the cold, come november. And southern schools, and west schools, got all the speed, and spread styles because they dont have to worry about the cold. But the advantage always goes to the south because thats were all the bowl games are played. Also homefield advantage.

They must bring some games up north, theres just as huge of media markets, if not more, the fans will go out in the cold to watch, even if its below zero for a game. Place bowl gmaes in Chicago, a larger bowl game than small caesers in detroit, use the indianapolis colts new dome stadium for games. i mean even it out a small. Philadelphia would be a excellent spot.

Did u see last year when Wisconsin played miami (fl) in champs sports bowl, it was in florida but the temp was like 40 degrees, and wisconsin smoked the hurricanes, todays game in el paso, the canes were dressed like it was in alaska, and the temp was only 38. and notre dame killed em. give an advantage to the northern schools for once. i mean really. And i liked watching the game in yankee stadium it was cold and it was fun to watch.
It doesnt have to be a weather advantage, just homefield. Place a game in the colts new dome stadium. Or a larger one in Ford field in detroit. Minnesotas metrodome when the dome get place back up if it ever does. Milwaukees baseball field. Just bring some up here, Its not all about the teams playing, so the fans up here can go to a game lacking having to take a plane.

that would be honest, but the bowls are supposed to be a reward. besides, the huge ten does pretty well even with the disadvantage, .500 against the SEC recently even with always being on the road.

there’s no doubt that northern teams would slaughter southern teams if they had to play in the cold, but in the end i reckon always playing in ideal situation can be a disadvantage for southern players when it comes to the NFL. just look at how poorly mark sanchez has adjusted to the weather in new york.

These are institution kids, and there’s a few points to make:

There must be Bowl games played in the North, period. Are Southern schools worried to play in the North? that’s the way it looks. Northern teams have to travel from the cold to the South, so don’t make the cold weather travel excuses please. Speaking of travel, how many fans and even familes can afford to make the long rode trip or flight to the South. These are institution kids, not Pros. The Southern nation benefits as well. Also, how many fans in the South are fans of northern teams. You can argue home Field Advantage as well.
I’m a believer in Bowls in the North.

Edit: Exactly-huge point-like I said above how many fans in the South are fans of Northern teams?

I personally want to go to Pasadena, but work and the costs of a 2100 mile trip make it really tough. (Green Bay to Pasadena)

sooo my school is flying all the way up from florida to be in the rose bowl parade. its in a week and a half but my period is going to start soonish. i don’t know when. i leave on the 27th. last month my period was early and came on the 21st, but ordinarily i’m always a week late.
my period is super heavy and i get super sick feeling. and i’m really frightened im going to have my period on this trip.

i really dont know what to to because there is no way i can dance in the parade if im on my period. its 6 miles long and i have to wear a tight skirt and dress. also i have to share a room with 5 other girls for a week. i get extremely sick and crampy and i get terrible diherrea.

any suggestions to make my period come earlier?

there is absolutely no way that you can make your period come earlier. but, you can certainly wear tampons. if you’re worried about blood getting on your skirt, putting in a super tampon right before your show would certainly stop you from getting bloody. also, for the cramps you would take motrin or pamprin, and for the diarrhea you would take immodium or some other otc drug for that.

There is nothing you can do unless you take birth control.[btw this is not recommended] If you take birth control you can stop taking it when you want to have your period. Once it has been a week start your next pack of birth control. Oh and if you do take birth control and choose this method, no unprotected sex at all.

So I’m 13, and I’m starting to plot my quinceanera. Its like a sweet 16 but for 15. Its a spanish tradition. (Im puerto rican) I dont want it to be like a “normal” alice in wonderland party. I want it to be reallly trippy. With a lot of rainbow ballons, funky lighting, a funky topsy turvey cake. Like this one:

My court will all be dressed up as characters from AIW, and im going to be “Alice” and my mom is going to be the “queen of hearts” I want to have a desk at one side of the room with a rvaen on it, pieces of paper, and a pen so guest can leave me notes to place in the ravens cage. (The raven is going to be a stuffed one from a crafts store.) And i want to place up on the wall right near the desk the saying of Why is a raven like a writing desk. I want white rabbit foot prints all over the floors. And i want my mom to sit in a high thone like looking chair since she is the queen. And i want to have a siting place for me on a mushroom. (not a real one :P ) I want the entrace to have fake small trees with with white and red roses. And the entrance to have these like silver streamers and the door frame outlined in gold to look like a mirror. And a sign saying enter wonderland through the looking glass. I want the halls to look real trippy, with designs on the wall in way eerie colors. I want the courts table to be like this extra long table, with all sorts fo tea pots and plates and things like in the movie, in the part of the mad tea party. All the toher guests tables with have tea cups and plates, and small bottles saying drink me and cupcakes and cookies saying eat me in the midle of the table.I want a chess game somewhere, and a croquet game too. And flamingos in some places as well. The table wear the cake will be at will have cookies and cupcakes saying eat me too. And the food table with have more small bottles, a punch bowl, and different things to eat. I want have a funky dress. And i want white and red roses at different part of the room, with silver paint cans that have a red brish here and there to amke it seem like the roses where painted. I want to have a hookah on a clear table some where. And i want to have funky shiney shoes.And ive been thinking of putting my cats in a certain room, and have that room be the pet the cheshire cats room. I also want to have a stage so a band can go up there if i do get a band. And i also would like one wall to say Lucky Merry Un-birthday to Genesis or somthing. I also would like random purple smiles and eyes nearly the room to be the cheshire cat. Id also like to have funky fabric in some places. i really dont know why. I also want to have a mirror for guest to sign but i dont know about that…..
And i want my entrance to be the song Brick by Dull Brick by PAramore to be plaing, and durin the instrumental part at the begginging The white rabbit comes out of this area and into the room of the party saying “Im late im late im late!” and i follow him saying mr rabbit wait! and then all the toehr characters come out, and ending with my mom saying “Off with their heads!”

What do you reckon about that? And do you have any other thoughts? Also how much do you reckon this will cost? Most of the decoratiosn will be paper, liek the rabits feel and cat smiles and stuff. My mom can make those with her scrapbooking machine the cricut.

And i want to have the party at a hotel ballroom, maybe so i can have enough room.OR a theatre lobby. And the dress i chose will be pretty cheap. $ 220 while most others are $ 600.

that sounds absolutly incredible. I am a HUGE alice in wonderland fan so that would be sooo cool!!! Sounds godly expensive but wow that is awesome!!!! lol

Im guessing that the cost could be from 2,000 to 5,000 and more…spendy but thats what it seems….the only part i would leave out would be the cat room. The cats may get a small freaked out with all the noise and all.

OH and i like the song :) except in two years the song trends will change and there can always be excellent stuff out. And i reckon of well loved songs two years ago and i dont like any of them anymore.

That all sounds pretty incredible! I do have to agree though that if your kittys aren’t comfortable, they may get in tears, and that’s no fun for them. Maybe instead see if someone you know can make a Cheshire Cat costume and dress up and have them stay all night to basically slink about the room and take pictures with your friends. I reckon it would also be really clean to get personalized playing cards (in keeping with the Wonderland theme) to give your guests as favors. All the GOP candidates have flaws, serious ones, which will make people vote against them. Romney has Romneycare. Perry is embarassing the disorder of Texas. Bachmann is off the deep end. Gingrich has marital infidelity holding him back. Ron Paul has only wackos following him. All you have to do is look at Cain and see he has no chance for the GOP. And whoever else is running is so insignificant, I can’t remember them. And if Christie decides to run, the GOP will learn quickly that a boisterous stout guy goes over okay in NJ, but not nationwide. That leaves Santorum to face Obama. And most people here indicate they would vote for anything, including farm animals over Obama, so once Santorum gets the GOP nod, it’ll be a cakewalk to victory.

The system is David Bowie’s “Space Oddity” and then it’s “Kingdom”. We’re not sure if it is a new U2 song or a Gavin Friday song (who is best friends with Bono). Leaning towards it being an outtake of U2′s No Line on the Horizon sessions. Possibly to be included on their upcoming “Songs of Ascent” album (no release date yet).

I heard from my sister that, after a certain age (like 23 or a touch), you can apply to ANY institution and you can attend there. You just need to pay full tuition. Like, is that right: can I like attend Stanford Academe when I reach nearly that certain age lacking carriage my SAT scores and high school classes, etc?

if you have no former institution experience the four year universities still require all that basic information (high school transcripts and SAT scores)

community colleges never require that

if your high school grades and sat scores were not that high i would suggest starting out at a CC

Schools strive to have a diverse student body, so being a “mature student” may give you a slight advantage at admission, but it surely will not make you a shoo-in. If you were 73 they would most likely be willing to work with you and make some exceptions for admission, but at 23 you’d be expected to adhere to the same standards as the high school seniors who apply.

Some universities have special programs and incentives for older students, but most still require that the applicants apply and meet certain criteria. As far as I am aware, Stanford doesn’t have any such programs, but you could contact them and question just to be sure.

If you are wanting to attend Stanford you need to have full a diverse array of challenging classes and have a high GPA and class status, stellar SAT scores and brilliant letters of recommendation. Being admitted as a transfer student is even more challenging than getting in as a freshman because they typically only accept nearly 20 people per year. So, if you haven’t done well enough to get in honest out of high school then I recommend working hard and excelling as an undergrad and then applying to Stanford for graduate admission.

Cricket has slowly been full over by other sports like football and basketball. Huge cash incentives might motivate people to play cricket. It could be excellent. It might also turn them into a country full of 20/20 players. Time will tell.

Focus on your essays. If your essays show that you will be a fantastic contributor to the community after graduation, then you have a very excellent chance. If your essay makes your accolades seem like selfish endeavors, I guarantee you will not get in (which sounds obvious, but you’d be surprised what people will send, so be careful).

You must apply to all the schools you are interested in. Don’t worry about your probability, just worry about what you can do to improve your probability.

The smell of chocolate make me sick. i feel like vomiting.

You need to see a doctor and a nutritionist to get you back on track. It takes time to lose weight by the book to make sure it does not come back.

1) Proper water intake, at least a gallon a day.
2) Nutrition, 6 small meals throughout the day, lots of leafy green veggies and bright colored ones as well, fruit here and there. Lean protein sources like turkey (no skin), chicken (no skin), low stout cottage cheese, tuna and other fish (limit salmon as it is quite high in stout, but the stout is the excellent kind). Complex carbs (whole grain bread and pasta, sweet potatoe or yams, quinoa, salba, oatmeal).

You can do it, we all have it in us to do it. Your soreness could simply be because of vitamin deficiencies and you really must see a doctor to try out that out. We are all here to help you! Keep trying, you can do it!

For the last few months, I’ve been feeling a small off. I’m constantly thirsty, urinate frequently, and have been suffering frequent diarrhea. More recently, I’ve been constantly exhausted, suffering from being lightheaded and shaky. I noticed I was feeling a small bit of poorer quality than normal, so I checked my blood sugar last night and it came in at 69 — here’s the kicker. I had consumed at least 5 cans of Coke, had eaten a turkey sub & antipasto salad with Italian, and a chicken finger bowl with mashed potatoes, chicken fingers, gravy and cheese. [I be with you my diet sucks, please don't address that.] I fit all the cryptogram and symptoms of hypoglycemia, but am I hypoglycemic? Diabetic? I’m setting up a doctors appointment as soon as I can, but I just want some piece of mind. Thanks in development.

You might be at higher risk for rising Type 2 diabetes, but as a rule, what that means is that your body produces insulin which the cells are not able to use correctly. It would cause elevated blood sugar, not extremely low blood sugar. There are also other things that could be at fault as well besides diabetes. At your age, that’s really not very likely. Regardless of what the actual conundrum is, I reckon you must not get too in tears and worried just yet. Most of what goes incorrect with us is really a touch honestly straightforward to remedy. It might be a touch as simple as a dietary adjustment, meaning you’d need to eat a healthier diet and lead a small healthier lifestyle. After all, when you have a family tendency towards a touch- be it Type 2 diabetes or high blood pressure- it only makes sense to do what you can to limit the risk factors from an early age. You are at an brilliant time in life to do just that. You might be getting some early warning cryptogram, yes. But if you get attention and treatment, and change things, you still yet might avoid the actual problems later on. Stop worrying about what they find, and just find out. Then change what needs changing. Worry about things when you at least know what to worry about. Even then, worry with purpose. If it needs changing, change it. If it means medicine, take it. And have some faith in your own body to restore your health if you give it a chance.

dehydrated or your electrolyte balance is off.
It does sound like you have diabetes or
hypoglycemic conundrum….but I would also have
your thyroid checked for hyperthyroidism.

Hi you could be in the beginning of diabetes. Frequent urination, frequent thirst, getting up at night to urinate, lethargy and exhaustion, tingly feet or hands, large appetite can all be cryptogram of diabetes. When you take in an enormous quantity of sugar your pancreas kicks out insulin to help with the high sugar sometimes taking you down below normal. You certainly need to have a glucose tolerance test done and they also have a test that they can do that will tell how your blood sugars have been over a period of time. These will tell how you sugars are and have been. Sometimes when we catch it in time you can prevent meds and insulin shots by fixing the diet. Eat more of your protein foods to keep the blood sugar at a normal instead of crashing it down. Beings your father is diabetic it doesn’t hurt to be tested off and on anyway. The best time to take your blood sugar is in the AM before you have ate or drank anything. This will be a more right outcome of what your sugar is. My father was diabetic and i try out myself frequently to make sure i am not becoming one too. Hope this helps excellent luck.

I went to the United States last month to visit my friend who is gay and is from Europe (Denmark). I’m from Denmark as well. My friend told on his first day of work, the coworkers were very forthcoming and asking who he was and where he came from, etc. you know all-purpose questions. Then he told them that he was gay and then he said his coworkers looked at him in surprise and acted shocked and were performing arts very different towards him after he told them that. They started performing arts very unfriendly towards him, he was getting some dirty stares and whispers and people were performing arts very hostile towards him. But when he lived in Denmark, unknown cared that he was gay, he was treated exactly the same as any person else, when he first told his family he was gay, his family was impeccably fine with it, I was fine with it too. In Denmark, unknown cares if one is gay or not.

But in the US, he says he feels singled out because of his sexuality. I did some research and found that 55% of Americans say homosexuality is morally incorrect, 60% say same sex marriages must not be legal. 70% of parents oppose discussing about homosexuality in public schools, and 55% of Americans hold negative views towards gay people. Gays in America can be legally fired from their jobs for being gay and gay people aren’t allowed to be in the military at all and most states ban gay people from adopting children. I’ve also seen posts on the internet saying that gay people are demons, that they’re mentally sick and pathological, and being labeled a perversion. The TV shows in the US and on the media seem to place a negative tone onto gay people. And badger those the media thinks might be gay.

Oh cummon we all (europeans) know americans are morons. Some of them despise gays cause they reckon themselves to be christian, but most just envy them. While in Europe and some ‘rising’ countries I have been shown fantastic respect for my gayness and have had no problems at all (school, work, etc.).

Talking about Bulgaria for instance (even if at their firstest gay pride ever a Cocktail-molotov was thrown at us).
