Where are some good, straight forward answers to the cost of bread, gas and milk in 2005, 2006 & 2008?

Question
I am trying to make some keepsakes for my two daughters, born in March 2006 and September 2008, as well as for my niece, born in November 2005. I need some prices for some common household items and food to complete my Birthday Keepsakes.

Things I would like to list:
Milk
Gas
Bread
Average Price of A new home
Average Price of a four year private college tuition
Stamp price
Average cost of ticket to a movie
Even some really good websites would be helpful. I feel as if I have gone over the internet search engines thouroughly, but I am probably just not using the right wording for what I am looking for.

Thank you so much for anyone who can help me complete my special project for these little ones.!!!!!

go to www.usa.gov.
search for “consumer price index.
I think it’s in the US Dept. of Commerce.

I’m Looking For Something??

Question
When i had my son in 2005, they sent me home from the hospital with a lil piece of paper asking if i wanted a Name Scroll for him. What it is, is the company will list everything about my son’s birth like time, date, place, weight and time. It also lists everything that took place on the day my son was born. Like popular movies/shows, current events, gas prices and the prices of homes. They print out all the details on an 11×14 piece of paper with a design of my choice. I decided to buy two, one for my son and one for my older daughter. Now i have 2 more children and i want to get one for them also, but i CANNOT for the life of me remember the website!! I really want these name scrolls bad!! Can anyone help me out and tell me if you know this website? i cant find it anywhere

Can you list some ways we can save oil or gas to add to these?

Question
In order to slow down oil speculators from buying futures of oil, we all can save as much as we can to put a glut in the market and slow down demand causing the price to decline and oil speculators to lose some cash halting them from buying more. The higher the price goes, the more they make on returns. Lets slow them down. Here is a couple ways to slow need of oil. It will take a while and you will see a slower market soon due to the warm climate in the north right now.

1. Make your own fun for the summer and enjoy porchville. Invite people over to share a meal and play some games or watch a movie you pick up or have mailed to you.

2. Buy as few items in plastic and use glass for storage if possible. Re-use medicine bottles for hardware after removing labels and washing containers. Re use plastics. Cook ahead and make your oven full with more than one item at a time to save energy. Put away extras in the freezer for preparing later. Add some.
Good ideas and as long as you cut the boat engine, row or sail, good choice.

Pre-plan your daily driving so that you can get the most done with the least effort. Shop for groceries on the way home from work, know the shortest and least-trafficked ways to where you’re going so that you aren’t idling in traffic.

Drive the speed limit! Driving well over the 65MPH speed limit seriously reduces your gas mileage.

Don’t blast the AC or the heat. Knocking the heat down to 68 or keeping the AC at 70 will save quite a bit on energy bills. Also, don’t run the AC until it is humid and hot. (I know a lot of folks have already started it here when we had 75 degree temps.)

Don’t drive unless absolutely necessary. Walk the two blocks to the corner store for the milk instead of driving.

Take public transit as much as possible.

If you must drive, try to car pool. Make sure your tires are properly inflated, and don’t have a lead foot. That wastes gas, and doesn’t really save much time.

I think I will avoid Porchville, and cruise Lakeville with my boat!
