Obama: Jim, let me just make a point. I’ve got a bracelet, too.

(Looks up, adjusts wrist, looks down at wrist)

Obama: From sergeant… uh.. (adjusts wrist) uh, from the mother of sergeant Ryan David Jopek (phonetic). Given to me in Green Bay. And she asked me, can you please make sure another mother isn’t going through what I’m going through?

Given that their have been so many, I’d imagine that no one could name them all from memory. Can you?
Answered by Jackoff
Obama needs to shove that bracelet where the sun don’t shine!

The better question is..it ok to send 4000 plus Children to their death, Destroy over 100k with wounds to their minds and bodies.. and kill 1.3 million Iraqi Civilians.. ?
Answered by Louis666KWu
What is not acceptable is getting it wrong. Obama was smart to check to make absolutely sure of the soldier’s name. Do you remember everything? Do you have a photographic memory? I don’t think so.

Presidential race in dead heat what do you think of that?

Question
McCain has picked up new voters and according to the AP the race is in a dead heat. See link:

AP stands for Associated Press. It is a news feed all news organizations use to collect news feeds. I even managed to get a small story on the AP once. Almost made it twice but that’s another story…

I think it’s about time. Though, I have to say, what’s up with these polls? I am not sure about the accuracy or the science behind them. But, then again, I tend to be a bit of a conspiracy theorist.

I’ve voted for McCain/Palin!

Answered by Brainiac
I’d say that if you think McCain has a ghost of a chance of winning, you’re going to be sorely disappointed on election night.

McCain walked all over Obama.
Answered by whimsy
A raving, angry lunatic versus a calm, poised, well-spoken and informed intellectual.

Which one is best for our country right now? – I’ll take the calm intellectual demeanor of Obama

Answered by gamefreak
McCain. Obama was cool and collected because all he said was what he’s been saying for forever. McCain is showing his guts and Obama is showing that he can read a script.

McCain will get something done. Obama will sell us out…

  1. Gen. Stiggo [Atheati-in-Chief] says:

Thanks to Bush and his cheerleader McCain, there are 4,000 dead Americans who gave their lives for no reason. Remembering one particular name out of those 4,000 isn’t that easy.

  2. open4one says:

I think it was one of the most cynical things I’ve ever seen.

Yeah, you have a bracelet, it means a lot to you, but hey, I have one, too, neener neener neener.

If Obama had been debating FDR, he’d probably have shown up in a wheelchair.

** “Obama was smart to check to make absolutely sure of the soldier’s name. Do you remember everything?”

Maybe both you and Obama don’t get it. If you don’t know the name of the person whose bracelet you’re wearing, why the hell do you have it in the first place? If he means NOTHING to you, why wear it at all? It was an obvious political stunt, and apparently that’s okay by Obama’s fans.

  3. Pokie™ Obama / Biden 08 says:

he didn’t say “let me just make a point” and he didn’t forget his name. you’re making things up. makes one wonder if you even watched the debate or just got the talking points in a chain e-mail.

  4. Boss H says:

He remembered didn’t he? say yes!
I have a hard time remembering the names of people I know, let alone people I don’t know while millions of Americans are watching me.
Are you just a freakin moron or just have a lack of tolerance for black politicians?Heck Reagan couldn’t even remember his own name!

  5. michelob86 says:

It’s better than forgetting how many houses you own, or that Iran isn’t training Al Quida, or that Spain is an ally.

  6. nirv says:

Is it acceptable to use POW status and soldiers names as an excuse for incompetence ?

  7. Jungle Bunny says:

It is when you use them to further your politcal agenda like Barrack Obama does.

  8. The Golden Buffalo says:

considering you him and mccain are using his dead meat for political purposes i’d rather the whole lot of you forget my name.

  9. McCain Blinked says:

That dead soldier’s mother was delighted Obama said her sons name.

Why did McCain feel the need to bring up his bracelet again? Oh that’s right, because he had to amend for singing about bombing Iran.

  10. katherine n says:

its Obama,,its who he is,,its what he does.
the same person who didn’t support defending this country now wants to lead it.
the same person who said that there is no way the surge would work now says it worked better that ANYONE ever dreamed it would
He (like Clinton) is a draft dodging coward who will ruin the U.S.

  11. kathleen O says:

Is it acceptable that we have so many dead soldiers because of Dubya’s lies? I don’t think so. Get a clue buddy! I talk to people from all over the country, and a few weeks ago I talked to a Republican Viet Nam POW who refuses to vote for McCain. Examples can be found to support anything, that doesn’t mean a thing.

  12. suthrngal says:

It’s unacceptable, but worse than that is going against the wishes of that soldiers parents, who specifically asked Obama not to use their son for political purposes (on more than one occasion).

Once again, Obama successfully lowers himself, demonstrating that he’s out after one thing and will do and say anything to get there. = Power

And to the person below me spouting that he did the right thing, I guess you missed the interview with that soldiers father, who once again asked Obama to quit using his son as an example.

  13. karen w says:

I just read an article saying the mother was ecstatic about their son being mentioned, and according to what I’ve heard from all y’all Republicans Obama stutters normally so what are you talking about. The bracelets represent 2 different viewpoints, McCain’s- lets keep sending soldiers to die to respect the ones already dead so they won’t have died in vain. Obama’s- lets end these wars as soon as possible and get our troops home safely so more families don’t have to suffer that horrible loss.

  14. robrobiii says:

I doubt anyone has all of the names of the thousands of lives wasted in Iraq memorized. Do you?

I think Obama nailed McCain hard on that response (and a few others).

  15. Ian B says:

    Obama will win.

  16. njb444 says:

not really a dead heat, it’s tightening, but Obama still has a significant lead and will most likely win. that’s a little trick the media pulls to keep their ratings up.

  17. shop2early says:

I do not believe Jack shit off of Fox News. I have to see if CNN, MSNBC or some other reputable news stations says so before I believe anything from Fox Republican News Station. Obama/Biden in 08.

  18. monterodaguison says:

polls are hard to depict im an Obama supporter and i havent trusted polls on TV. Tell you what if McCain doesnt get Va and Fla , he wont win it. good luck !! respect!!

  19. Exitwound says:

Thats a Fox news poll of course. Go to MSNBC theirs will be the other way around. Know one knows till the election is over.

  20. ♥~Sunshine~♥ says:

I think people are wising up and seeing what Obama reallly is: a socialist that will ruin this country! McCain is gaining ground and that’s a great sign! Hopefully, the Obamacide gas will wear off of more people that are under his spell and will vote for McCain – the BEST choice for a free and safe America! I don’t put any trust and faith in poll numbers, as they do not reflect the votes of all Americans, but if those polls are NOT biased (which most of them are, if not all), then it appears that McCain is tighting the noose on Obama! :D

    McCain/Palin ’08!

  21. Marcia B says:

That’s just ONE poll. Most others have Obama ahead by significant margins.

  22. EtheREAL says:

Ohh faux news….so reliable and unbiased

    http://www.realclearpolitics.com/polls/

Ohh the baker got burnnned, what do you say about that?

  23. Drixnot says:

Trump won’t be able to be in a debate with Obama until after (lol) he wins the republican primary.

  24. Sgt. Pepper the Cubs fan says:

I felt that McCain won the debate last night despite what the polls say. The statistics they give are meaning less.

  25. jcey says:

I watched the debate and on substance feel McCain was the overall winner. I am curious who these pollsters are talking to that give Obama the edge in this last debate.

I think McCain won out on the economy. I think he drove home that raising taxes on anyone–even the rich–in a time like this was risky business. Using Hoover and the Great Depression helped drive that home.

On substance, he dominated the section devoted to backing concerns about the other candidate. Those that don’t know any better may have bought the “Bill Ayers was just an associate” KoolAid Obama tried feeding but factually, McCain was right that Obama’s political kick off was in Ayers home. And Obama never did explain his $ 800,000+ donation to Acorn this year.

McCain took the section about energy independence. He actually answered the question for one! His proposal to cut oil dependence by boosting nuclear power was very plausable and would cut our foreign oil dependence significantly in the short term while still addressing the future with his ideas to help alternative fuels. Obama didn’t think we could cut foreign dependence in the short term and only uses alternative fuels to cut future dependence–nothing for the current.

I was unimpressed with both candidates on education. The moderator raised a valid point that we spend the most per student than any other country yet Obama still wants to pump more money into schools. I like McCain’s idea for competition but he could have done a better job expressing this.

With health care, someone not reading between the lines could easily give that to Obama. But post debate analysis of numbers Obama tried using, show that taxpayers will pay more. McCain didn’t do a great job explaining his idea. So this is the one area I could see people giving to Obama. But to give him the whole debate on that?!

Overall, I think this was a slam dunk for McCain. Those handing the debate to Obama, either are loyal Obama supporters, or those that are unfamiliar with the actual facts.
