Gina Carano— Who else thinks…?

Question
She’s a freaking MORON for giving up fighting for Hollywood? Her career will fail in no time and she’ll be begging to fight again. Really shows her character after all the crap she talked before the Cyborg fight.
Answered by Gray
What a Rampage Jackson? I wanted to see him try to knock Rashad the fuck out, even though I think Rashad would win that fight. Even so I thought Carano was overrated because she has never fought any fighter that is a good ground artist or dominant wrestler in her division.
Only Cyborg which she got beat at her own game. At least she still looked prettier than Cyborg after taking a beating.

yeah, why give up the most violent, bloody sport for Hollywood. She should continue the extreme violence to satiate the blood thirst of creeps like you.
Answered by Alex Veley
She’s a very pretty lady and an incredibly successful fighter when it comes to Muay Thai competitions and MMA. How well this will translate to acting depends on how much she is willing to devote to it. I am only worried for the fact that she is very much a fighter and how well she can adapt her style to the silver screen and not get to compete.

WELL I HOPE SHE DOES BOTH – ACT AND FIGHT – THE MOVIE SHE WAS IN WITH KIMBO WAS TERRIBLE I HEARD – WITH STRIKEFORCE SHE COULD BE SHOWN ON PRIMETIME CBS AGAIN WHICH WOULD BE GOOD FOR HER CAREER AND THE SPORT

Kurt Angle as a MMA fighter?

Question
http://www.411mania.com/MMA/columns/140699/The-411-MMA-Top-5-06.03.10:-Week-44-–-Pro-Wrestlers-as-MMA-Fighters.htm
What do you think of these pro wrestlers as mixed martial artists?

Kurt Angle – There runs a story abound that one time, Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar held a shoot wrestling match one day. It is told that Angle easily manhandled Lesnar (who, may I remind you, has won the UFC Heavyweight Championship), a guy who wins fights because of his ability to control people. If Angle could manhandle this physical specimen, imagine what he could do if he took some MMA training seriously (before his 9 neck injuries).

Bryan Danielson – Danielson is a tremendous athlete that became an international professional wrestling superstar with his MMA strong style. Danielson incorporated MMA-style strikes and submissions into his repertoire. Danielson also has trained at Xtreme Couture and at one point it was even rumored he might turn to MMA after leaving ROH. If WWE wastes the American Dragon’s talents, MMA might be an avenue for him to explore. Not to mention he’s still in his 20′s I believe.

CM Punk – CM Punk has a legitimate Muay Thai background, along with being known to have trained in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. While he may not be in quite as good physical shape as some fighters, I believe that he wouldn’t do half bad for himself.

Shelton Benjamin – I recall reading stories years ago about how Benjamin could roll with anyone in the WWE locker room. That includes his former roommate at the University of Minnesota, Brock Lesnar. At least that’s what I remember. Benjamin was a great amateur wrestler and if he could.

Samoa Joe – Joe could make 265. He’s trained MMA and kickboxing before. Despite people ragging on him for his weight, he’s a tremendous athlete. And he’s already got the perfect catchphrase and nickname.

Eve Torres – Eve Torres is a tremendous and stunning athlete. She’s a looker that could make her the next Gina Carano. Besides that, Torres already trains kickboxing AND in addition she also trains Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with her boyfriend Renner Gracie. She has a much better shot at breaking into the MMA scene than Victoria’s failed attempt.

Jack Swagger – We all know that wrestling is pretty much the best based to be successful and dominant in MMA, and here in Jack Swagger we have a top level amateur pro wrestler and All-American. Swagger’s got a big frame and also what CM Punk used to call freaky retard strength. Swagger has all the building blocks of a good MMA fighters.

Angle would have been a good MMA fighter if he started before 2002. At this point, his neck and body are pretty messed up. Angle lost a submission match against Daniel Puder, have my doubts about the Lesnar story.
Answered by MMA
I can’t comment too much because Brock Lesnar is dominating in MMA right now, but how can you say that Kurt Angle easily manhandled Brock Lesnar if the fights are all preplanned and fake?

They would be meh.. btw steroids aren’t allowed in the UFC so they would be fcuked haha

Any collegiate level or international level greco-roman or freestyle wrestler could be decent at mma, or at least way better than your average black belt. Remember, though, that an olympic gold medalist got armbarred by Frank Shamrock in 16 seconds. Obviously, a great wrestler could pick up jiujitsu quickly, but can he pick up enuff in two years to grapple with a Brazilian black belt who has been doing it all his life? Maybe or maybe not. I think Angle has tremendous potential to be great in MMA, if Mr. Angle could learn to punch and if he could take a punch. I am not familiar with some of the guys on your list except Benjamin. Punk, from what I gather, is a real shoot fighter, but is he good enough to fight real competition? He would have to prove it in Bellator or Strikeforce first.
I have knowledge of pro wrestling and I am aware that most of those guys are double tough and great athletes with fantastic pain thresholds, but again, fighting a pro MMA fight at even the lowest level is something beyond most athletes. Lesnar and Lashley have stepped up, let’s see some more.

I have no idea who those other jokers are, but in general I know pro wrestling, as stupid as their activity may be, are extremely tough and mostly very good athletes. I have to believe anybody who could put in the physical work and mental discipline to become famous at that freak show would at least be able to attain a decent level of success in the legitimate sport of MMA.

Kurt Angel would have surely been an elite MMA fighter, if he had gone right into it after the Olympics. Free style is not as easy to transfer to MMA as Greco-Roman is, though. Still, he would have had ferocious ground and pound abilities, and with the training now available for high level athletes, would have been up to speed grappling wise against any black belt on the planet in a year or so–particularly in a match, when he had the option to punch them in the face.
