How can I sell lots of Girl Scout cookies?

Question
I live in Hinckley. I am a Girl Scout with the Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin Lakes and Pines. I am starting to sell cookies now and am wondering, what is a quick way to sell lots of cookies? I am going to do a cookie booth in about 2 weeks. But, I want to sell even more. I think that I will sell a lot, because of the booth, and because my friend’s family LOVES girl scout cookies. but do you have any other suggestions??

Go to the mall if they will let you.if u have a walmart near by I know u can go to walmart and talk to the manager to see if u can stay by the front door to sell them.

Most of the girls around here get permission from Walmart or a local grocery store to set up a table outisde. But you have bad weather so ask around for a place to sell in dorrs like a busy book store or maybe at church. Ther are soliciting laws so you need permission before doing anything else.

If you have the time you could go around the small offices in the area, generally people bored at work all day will buy snacks when they turn up on their doorstep. Or at least from what I have seen anyway.

You could also try getting permission to sell them at a public event or arena.

How old are you? I only buy girl scout cookies from the little kids because its cute and the cookies are amazing. If some middle aged lady asked me to buy cookies, I’d probably think she was mentally retarded and off her meds. Go to Africa and adopt 7 to 8 small girls like Angelina Jolie did and have them go door to door selling cookies. Don’t feed them so that your profits are higher. Once people start asking questions you need to leave the kids and the booth and run away with your profits. Good luck!

Are you going to be buying Girl Scout cookies?

Question
Hi,

A lot of Girl Scouts around the country will be selling Girl Scout cookies this month. Do you support the Girl Scouts or have a Girl Scout that you know?

My daughter’s troop has to sell a certain amount of cookies to be able to go to the Cosmosphere in March which is $ 65.00 per person.

Different regions sell cookies for different prices-our price will be $ 3.50 a box with a $ 0.53 profit. So each girls’ goal is to sell 120 boxes of cookies to pay their own way.

Also, if you do buy cookies do you purchase them through family/friends, if a girl comes to your door or a booth sale (where they are standing in front of a business)?

I personally enjoy supporting Girl Scouts and want to hear what other’s say and feel about it?

Answered by hello
yup, i love the ones with caramel and nuts n stuff

My neighbor just brought her daughter over and I bought a box for $ 4. It’s really not about the cookies, but helping to support the girls. It’s a good cause, they have fun doing it, and it teaches them so much! (Provided the parents aren’t selling them at work!) My daughter was a Daisy and Brownie and she had to sell the cookies on her own – I did accompany her.

I will end up buying some from some of my students. I don’t usually eat them because I try to avoid sweets. I’ll give them to a food bank.

I usually buy Thin Mints.

If they started selling Kookaburra’s again I’d support a whole troop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Uhm. Come to my door with lots of caramel delights, and let me buy on credit! Of course i’d get in debt up to my eyeballs and become obese but……

Set up a table at a local store with a couple friends, and split the profits!

Are girl scout cookies called like that because they are made from real girl scouts?

Question
I was just wondering because I was watching the Adams Family a while back and Wednesday did make a good point. The girls scouts approached The Adams’ lemonade stand and the evil children asked the girls if they wanted lemonade so they replied “Are they made from real lemons?” that question lead to nowhere so the girls asked the kids if they wanted to buy girl scout cookies and Wednesday replied “Are they made from real girl scouts?” which left me wondering. What do you guys think? (:- Spazzy Mc Spaz pants.
Answered by Miriam
haha no. i was a girl scout.. they are made by the girl scout company :) and then given to the girl scouts :)
Answered by Kirsty
Such an epic film, gotta love Wednesday :) And to be honest if girl scout cookies were sold without real girl scouts in them it would be false advertising ;)
Answered by MaWe
of course they are!! xD AND they have to add a little of prisoners because those girl scouts are too sweet and the coockies are just too yuk when they maek them only out of them xD xD

    1. Malls and high traffic areas. Colleges are great if you can get access.

    2. Remind customers how much they love them and that they can be frozen. Also remind them about gift-giving opportunities.

    3. Look for target rich environments. Apartment complexes, work places with lots of employees, etc.

    4. Work your social network. Look for relatives you can work, people who don’t have their own Girl Scout cookie pushers, etc.

    5. Assume success. “Would you like to buy a box of cookies?” is weak and gives them a chance to think and say no. Instead try something like “Hi! I’m here to take your cookie order! We have some new flavors, and your old favorites. How many would you like this time?” Then upsell. “Are you sure that is enough? You can freeze them and they will be great all year round.”

I like them, and of course will buy them because my cousin will hit me up & also my mom still buys them as a treat for us & our families. Now that I lost weight I hope I don’t go back to eating them so much!! I also sold them in the 80s and liked the whole process. Gives kids independence & teaches them a lot. Just don’t let them go out alone if they are selling! I don’t personally like it when they are in front of a biz cuz they tend to be pushy and u feel obligated. Maybe send out an email to all your contacts, let your family/friends, co-workers and neighbors know and that should do it. Good luck, hope you reach your goal.

  4. Vitamin C says:

I was a Girl Scout and selling cookies was horribly torturous for me. I am a naturally introverted person, and I noticed that the other shy girls were very unhappy and nervous having to try to go up to strangers and talk, little alone having to sell a product. The belief that making a shy child do this will “break” them of their shyness is beyond cruel and just plain ignorant. Being introverted is not abnormal, it is just a personality trait and can’t be “broken”. Anyway, I think selling cookies is a great activity for extroverted girls who enjoy the challenge of sales and like to be in the spotlight, but I think it’s emotionally unhealthy to force a shy girl to do it. My mom ended up selling all my cookies to her work colleagues or just buying them out right after she realized how unhappy the activity made me. If your child is naturally shy, please don’t make her do this, because it’s only likely to cause her unhappiness or just make her want to quit the scouts.

Yes, ah yes, I will be buying cookies, many cookies, many many cookies. They are just too handy in my storage room. :-(
My girls are trying to raise money for their Gold Award project and they also want to travel to Europe before they graduate. Far cry from the Pizza Party goal when they were Brownies. LOL
