Is it easy to add color to a black and grey tattoo?

Question
I’m kinda a split on whether I want to get my next tattoo in color or just black and grey. If I do just black and grey now, will adding color be difficult if I feel like adding color later down the line.
Answered by Blop Hoe
No it would be quite simple, just use some crayons or markers.

You can always add color later if they tattoo is intended to have color (spots are left open, etc). Tattoos are often in sessions, i’ve had many line-work, shading sessions, and then doing color last. Should be fine in most cases.

Would a black and grey peacock feather tattoo look stupid?

Question
I really want a peacock feather tattoo, but I also love the look of black and grey tattoos. I was wondering if a black and grey peacock feather tattoo would look stupid?

Should I go with black and grey or color for my tattoo?

Question
I am getting a peacock feather and flowers on my ankle. I am very pale (I do not tan).

The colors I want are very significant, but it will involve white and I don’t want the design to look crummy and faded.

On the other hand, I do love black and white designs in general, and I know black and grey tattoos are more reliable over time.

What should I do?

Black and Grey.

I went with color…very pale, don’t tan (don’t bother trying anymore either!) and the color has held up well.

I have mine on my back right shoulder so it’s usually covered which saves it from UV rays. I’m not sure if you’d have the same luck on your ankle…

Black and white will hold it’s color but fade over time. Color or B&W will require a touch up or two over it’s lifetime if you want it to stay looking fresh.

Color does fade easier and will up the price of your tattoo just so you know (:
