NFL 2011-2012 midseason predictions?

Question
These are actually my personal “updated” predictions. Let’s dance.

NFC EAST
New York Giants (11-5)
Philadelphia Eagles (10-6)
Dallas Cowboys (7-9)
Washington Redskins (3-13)

Division Summary: The Giants got a lot of respect from me by beating the Patriots. The Eagles are… “soaring,” and the Cowboys are as overrated as ever. The Redskins could be the worst team in the conference at this point.

NFC WEST
San Francisco 49ers (13-3)
Seattle Seahawks (5-11)
Arizona Cardinals (3-13)
St. Louis Rams (2-14)

Division Summary: Except for the 49ers, this division is absolutely a wreck. The 49ers have basically clinched the division already, and will only add to their record with some easy wins within their division. The 49ers may just be the most complete team in the NFL.

NFC NORTH
Green Bay Packers (15-1)
Detroit Lions (10-6)
Minnesota Vikings (9-7)
Chicago Bears (9-7)

Division Summary: This is my vote for toughest division in the league. The Packers are a legit threat to repeat. The Lions have plenty of weaknesses but sure look good against -.500 teams. Do the math. I project the Vikings will be the team to end the Packers’ undefeated run. The Bears have a tough schedule up ahead.

NFC SOUTH
Atlanta Falcons (12-4)
New Orleans Saints (11-5)
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (9-7)
Carolina Panthers (4-12)

Division Summary: The Saints are dreadful on the road, but luckily play the majority of their remaining games at home; This weakness allows the Falcons to leapfrog them into the division crown. The Buccaneers are overrated in my eyes, but still good. And I feel bad for Newton.

AFC EAST
Buffalo Bills (12-4)
New England Patriots (11-5)
New York Jets (10-6)
Miami Dolphins (2-14)

Division Summary: The Bills had a rough game but still own the league in many offensive and defensive categories. The Patriots are proving they can compete with the big dawgs but are having trouble beating them. The Jets are on a hot streak but have a tough schedule ahead. The Dolphins suck.

AFC WEST
San Diego Chargers (9-7)
Kansas City Chiefs (7-9)
Oakland Raiders (6-10)
Denver Broncos (4-12)

Division Summary: The Chargers are so inconsistent it’s not even funny. The Chiefs lost to the Dolphins. The Raiders are lost without Campbell. The Broncos can compete with teams in their own league (i.e. other crap teams).

AFC NORTH
Baltimore Ravens (13-3)
Pittsburgh Steelers (11-5)
Cincinatti Bengals (9-7)
Cleveland Browns (5-11)

Divison Sumarry: Ravens are the best team in the league when they actually click together. The Steelers are complete on every side of the ball. The Bengals are leading the division because they haven’t played the Steelers or Ravens yet. And it’s official; Peyton Hillis has the Madden Curse.

AFC SOUTH
Houstan Texans (12-4)
Tennessee Titans (7-9)
Jacksonville Jaguars (6-10)
Indianapolis Colts (0-16)

Division Summary: The Texans are a legit superbowl contender. Everyone else sucks so bad they don’t need to be spoken about.

***Super Bowl***
Ravens VS Falcons
Joe Flacco: 19/30, 329 yards, 3 TD, 1 INT.
Matt Ryan: 26/41, 331 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT.
Ray Rice: 17 RSH attempts for 111 yards. 6 REC for 61 yards.
Michael Turner: 15 RSH attempts for 97 yards. TD.
Anquan Boldin: 7 REC for 106 yards. 2 TD.
Roddy White: 11 REC for 131 yards. TD.
Ray Lewis: 11 Tackles, 1 FF
Brent Grimes: INT, TD

The game will be all knotted up with seconds left to play at 24-24. The Ravens will call a Hail Mary to try and win it before going into overtime. Brent Grimes will intercept the deep pass and return it for a touchdown with no time left. Falcons win the superbowl, 31-24.

So tell me your thoughts, and also tell me your predictions. Please keep flaming to a minimum.
Those are good points John. Well say Joe Flacco kneels it down, and it goes into overtime. I say whoever wins the coin toss wins the game.

Wow… You really got that thought out.. Great job! But, Your NEVER through a Hail Mary downfield unless you are down points. So, Flacco would have just kneeled it and went into Overtime.. Also, It is very hard to return A Hail Mary all the Way down the field. Overall, Awesome Predictions! But the SUperbowl is a little messed up (and I am not just saying that because I am a ravens fan) :D

I think the Texans could take the Ravens in a rematch during the playoffs. The Texans have now turned the corner and are making a legit run for the Superbowl and I think they have enough personal drive inside to take out the Ravens on the way to a Superbowl win.

Will you watch the First UFC Live Event on fox on November 12, 2011?

Question
The UFC’s deal with Fox is official. Check out the official press release for the deal below

UFC & FOX PACK PERFECT PUNCH

FOX SPORTS MEDIA GROUP REACHES MULTI-YEAR, MULTI-MEDIA RIGHTS AGREEMENT WITH ULTIMATE FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIP

FOX to Broadcast Four Fights Annually Beginning November 2011

The Ultimate Fighter, Featuring a New Format, Moves to FX

Today, Ultimate Fighting Championship® (UFC), the world’s leading mixed martial arts organization and No. 1 Pay-Per-View event provider in the world, finds its perfect media match in FOX, the No. 1 television network in the country. FOX Sports Media Group, the umbrella entity representing FOX Networks Group’s wide array of sports platforms, has reached a multi-year, multi-media rights agreement with Zuffa, LLC, owner of the UFC brand.

The landmark agreement, which puts UFC on par with many of the country’s professional sports organizations, delivers four live events in prime time or late night each year to the FOX broadcast network, home to the country’s biggest sports events, including the Super Bowl, World Series and Daytona 500. The first live event airs Saturday, Nov. 12 at 9:00 PM ET/6:00 PM PT. Additional programming on multiple FOX networks launches January 2012 and includes live fights, pre and post shows, countdown shows, UFC Unleashed, UFC Primetime, the UFC Knockout series, Best of Pride, weigh-in specials, and much more original content from extensive Zuffa archives. The agreement also provides for developing robust mobile and authenticated online offerings to exploit a vast array of digital platform rights.

In spring 2012, THE ULTIMATE FIGHTER, UFC’s signature weekly reality show moves to FX, FOX’s general entertainment cable network now in more than 99 million homes. With the move to FX, the show will feature a newly-designed format. FX is also set to televise another four-to six-live UFC events annually, with a mixture of additional events and programs heading to FSMG cable networks including FUEL TV.

“We’re excited to be part of the FOX family,” says Dana White, UFC President. “The UFC is finally where it belongs on the number one network in the country and aligned with the most prestigious sports properties in the world. I’ve always said that the UFC will be the biggest sport in the world and with this relationship it will become a reality.”

“My brother Frank, Dana and I always believed that our passion for the sport of Mixed Martial Arts would help us to build the UFC into a successful global brand and ultimately make it one of the premier sports properties in the world,” said Lorenzo Fertitta, Chairman and CEO of the UFC. “The partnership with FOX is a major step in making this a reality and also builds on the great relationship that we already have established with FOX in Latin America, Australia and Europe.”

“Mixed martial arts is not only the fastest growing sport in the world, but also the world’s most exciting form of man-to-man competition, and the UFC is the world’s premier MMA organization,” said FSMG President & Co-COO Eric Shanks. “Since FOX Sports is America’s No. 1 sports network and FOX is America’s No. 1 network for young adults, the UFC on FOX is a perfect match.”

“UFC’s growth over the past decade is nothing short of phenomenal and it has become one of the marquee sports in this country,” said John Landgraf, President and General Manager, FX Networks. “There is a reason for its rising popularity. It features some of the greatest athletes in the world, and we believe it will be a terrific addition to our schedule and look forward to our relationship.”

WrestleMania 30 NOT in MSG? But somewhere better?

Question
I just read an article in the Times Picayune, the New Orleans newspaper. It stated that SMG, the Superdome management group, has sent in a bid for the Wrestlemania in 2014, which is Wrestlemania 30. The article also stated that the WWE is also pushing for Wrestlemania 30 to be in the Superdome, a year and a couple of months after the Super Bowl 47 in 2013, which will also be held in the Superdome, and two years after the Final Four in 2012, which will also be in the Superdome. From what New Orleans city leaders have said, it looks like it will happen.

I know the WWE usually holds a Wrestlemania every ten years in New York, but from everything I’ve read and heard, it will probably be in the Superdome in New Orleans.

Here is the link to that article:

http://blog.nola.com/saintsbeat/2009/04/state_saints_lease_agreement_c.html

http://blog.nola.com/tpsports/2009/04/lsed_approves_new_turf_for_sup.html says “SMG officials announced they are planning to place a bid for the 2014 WrestleMania event. WrestleMania XXV was held April 5 at Houston Reliant Stadium and WrestleMania XXVI is slated to be held March 28, 2010 in Glendale, Ariz. The bid for WrestleMania, which generally draws crowds of more than 60,000 spectators, has to be submitted to World Wrestling Entertainment by April 29. New Orleans has never hosted a WrestleMania.”

I have often wondered why the WWE has never held Wrestlemania in the Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Superdome has held more of a combination of Super Bowls, Final Fours, and College Football National Championships than any other venue in the country. Many people think that Wrestlemania should have already been held in the Superdome at least once, especially considering its rich history of hosting championship sporting events.

I am very surprised, as are many other people worldwide, that the WWE has never held Wrestlemania in the Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. I think the time is long overdue for this to happen.

What do you think about this?

A Question About Obama’s “Pittsburgh Secret”?

Question
Can somebody explain to me what is going on with the President Obama and Pittsburgh? Follow this…

#1- He chooses Pittsburgh to host the G-20

#2- He is meeting REGULARLY with UPMC (University Of Pittsburgh
Medical Center) officials who continue to be the fastest growing
healthcare titan in the world right now.

#3- Pittsburgh National City bank got a host of special earmarks in
the bailout package that has vaulted it to America’s 4th largest
bank out of left field.

#4- He named Steelers’ president Dan Rooney, Ambassador Of Ireland.

#5- He outwardly chose Pittsburgh over Arizona in the Super Bowl.

#6- He is actively pushing for Pittsburgh’s consideration for the 2020
Summer Olympics.

#7- He just steered Bill Gates to approve Pittsburgh for the Gates
Foundations’ biggest education grant to date.

#8- He is championing the Heinz Foundation’s EXORBITANT
Riverbank LED Lighting project which would illuminate the banks
of the Three Rivers at night with ever-changing technicolor
10 foot LED Lighting Tubes based on how much solar power they
gathered throughout the day….to the tune of 11 million dollars.

The rumor according to the Pittsburgh press, is that Obama is in bed
with money the Heinz Foundation for reelection in 2012 in Pennsylvania (a state a democrat MUST win). Another more outlandish theory, is that Pittsburgh has long been rumored to be the secret American center for The Illuminatti since the collusion of Andrew Carnegie, Andrew Mellon, the Benedum Family, and the Frick Family in the 1800′s, and that there is some vague debts owed to Pittsburgh in the election of him. I don’t buy those type of conspiracies, but I’ll say this….

…there’s something fishy about why Pittsburgh has essentially become this administration’s pet-project at every turn….ESPECIALLY when cities like Detroit, Cleveland, Buffalo, Dayton, Youngstown, New Orleans, Columbia SC, Charleston WV, and on and on….are in FAR worse shape than Pittsburgh whose actually emerged as a pretty nice city in the last 20 years.

…that makes me wonder what the motivation is…and i’m not the only one wondering this…even the drudgereport had a blurb about what seems to be a mystifying funnelling of money from the Obama administration to the city of pittsburgh, for reasons nobody has figured out yet.

But they will…trust me on that…something is going on here, and it will become a major story in the not so distant future.
