Is Tyler Perry sexist?

Question
Now I love me sum Tyler Perry, but why is the crackhead/drunk in his plays/movies always a woman?????
Hmmm, that’s a good question. But alot of the females in his films end up empowered at the end, so maybe not.

I KNO!!!! i always noticed that too….i mean i personally think that he doesnt liek women…becaus ein his movies he always (well most of the time) makes the women look stupid hard headed and dumb and never realize that they have a good man infront of them

Madea is favored after Tyler Perry’s mom and aunt.

Spiritually speaking, how come tyler perry movies and shows are so fake…?

Question
when he’s supposedly keepin it real…on his shows or movies the black guys are always successful and have good jobs, they live with their wife and support their kids, when in reality that couldn’t be further from the truth. he should do a show or movie where the dad splits as soon as the woman gets pregnant then she has to apply for food stamps and government aid to support them, and then they figures out that it’s pretty easy to get government aid if you’re black so they just stop trying to get a job, it’s easier to not work and live off other peoples taxes…and the man will exploit this as well, there should probably be some crack smoking, definately some old english 40 drinking going on but no. tyler perry’s production aren’t representative of the reality, they’re more like wishful thinking….and another thing why does he always dress like a woman, what’s that about?
@ Dancing Bear, you make an excellent point. you are a wise bear.
@quinn, im kidding but im not at the same time, growing up in los angeles i’ve seen the reality, i know for a fact every part of this question is true. i know not all blacks are experts at filling out welfare applications but alot of them are, they know just what to write on them to get the maximum payout, they’re outright proud of that fact too. so don’t call it racism, im not making this stuff up, i’ve seen it, i know it’s true, and that’s that. i don’t hate blacks, i feel sorry for them, they’ve stumped on a dead end rather than working hard and making something of themselves they’re content to take handouts fromt he government, i believe in the original intentions of the welfare system to help those who truly need it. but ihas created a society of leaches who have come to take advantage of it and to be honest displaced alot of people who truly need the aid. so don’t call me a racist, it’s easy to be all PC when your’e not seeing the

Right, because no black guys are ever successful….. funny, but my boss is black…. and an engineer with a PhD…..

You might as well ask why all shows and movies set in the south are fake, because they don’t show toothless rednecks cooking up meth in their trailer parks, while their 10 dirty kids run around with their bare feet and kool-aid mustaches….

Why would someone make movies portraying the WORST examples of their race or culture?

Answered by Quinn
Dude. Even if you are joking, that’s so f*cked up. Racism is stupid and ignorant. I can’t stand it, and if you are truly racist, I can’t stand you.
Answered by Dancing Bear
His attempts to portray black America in a better light is hardly what is “fake” about his stories….there’s blacks as you describe, but also many blacks that have lifestyles (in general) as he portrays…what is really fake about the stories is his two-dimensional characters that never seem to care about their relationship with white America, when it is definately the main obsession black Americans dwell over.

Find a baby sitter and have your husband take you out on the town and do all the things that you and him like to do together. Good Luck!!! Oh, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Have a great day!!!

Answered by LAURA C
With your b-day being on a Thursday this year, it might be hard to do this, but maybe it could work for you. Make a list of 27 things that you do that bring you happiness and do them. The list could include anything from taking a bubble bath to taking a walk in the park. Anything that doesn’t take up too much of your time, but makes you smile. That’s what birthdays should be all about – love, happiness & enjoyment.
Have a great & happy birthday.

With three kids, I bet you could use some pampering. Find a nice spa and get messages, facials, or anything else that you may not treat yourself to regularly. The best way to do this is to stay in a hotel that does all of this for you. Afterwards, have a nice romantic dinner with your husband, especially if someone is watching the kids and you have a hotel room to retire to.
