should the utah jazz be regretting not taking Chris Paul over Deron Williams?

Question
CP3 is almost leading every single category for 3 years straight now. He is obviously the better one between the two.
Answered by blaise c
No. I think Deron is a better fit in Utah than Paul. Deron Williams have gelled well with Carlos Boozer. They understand each other well as Chris Paul does with Chandler. Deron Williams is also a better shooter than Paul is.
Answered by Hotshot
No. Deron Williams has his own style of play. If CP3 and the Hornets capture the crown then they can sour-grape a bit. =>

Not really. I mean Deron Williams is not that bad. He’s the perfect fit. Jerry Sloan’s style of play fits Williams perfectly. The slow paced bruising pick on roll type of basketball.

But with CP3′s eagerness for the fastbreak and an attacking mentality, he might not feel as comfortable under Jerry.

I think it’s much better that they had Deron and New Orleans had Paul.

Yes, Paul is the better one between the two but Williams is really the better fit for the Jazz.

Do you think Utah regrets getting to the Conference Finals last year? And in only Deron Williams’ 2nd season? And for the last couple of head-to-head match-ups Deron has lit-up Paul in every statistical department available for them to contend. Do I think Utah regret anything? I think not.

Hope this helps.

Would the Jazz pick Chris Paul over Deron Williams if they had a redo in the draft?

Question
I like Deron Williams but Chris Paul is better
Answered by Chris Taft
thats tough because honestly neither of them would be happy in Utah because the jazz are not a championship team.

However I think Chris Paul would have acted differently with Jerry Sloan because he is more mature than Deron Williams and he wouldn’t of cried so much with him saying the Jazz arent contenders

Answered by Robel Escobar
They’d both leave anyway so the Jazz would’ve picked someone good and loyal.
Answered by Christian
Yes. Look where Williams is now. Plus, he’s the reason Jerry Sloan left Utah.

Why did the Hawks draft Marvin Williams over Chris Paul and Deron Williams?

Question
Others:
Danny Granger
David Lee
Andrew Bynum
Monta Ellis
Is it because they got the two Williams mixed up?
Answered by Lakers for a 3-Peat?
It’s much harder to judge players coming out of high school and college than it is to nitpick those decisions in hindsight.
Answered by YanYan
It’s not like they expected them to be players they are now.
Answered by John A
Lol. nice.

No I dont think they got them mixed up. If you need everything in the draft, which Atlanta did at the time, the common wisdom is to take the best available athlete. Williams was from a winning program and was highly touted. You can go down the list above and give reasons for why each one wasnt chosen ie. Dont need Paul he’s too short, dont need Deron already have Bibby etc.Bynum is too unproven and risky, etc. Its not an exact science – just ask the Clippers.

Sometimes you win a little,(Williams, Bargnani) sometimes you win more (Jordan) (and sometimes you lose.(Bowie,Olawokandi)

Who is more over rated, Paul Williams or Devon Alexander?

Question
Im going with Alexander… Williams SKILLS are over rated – but up until the martinez fight his chin, heart, and toughness were under rated… Williams IS NOT skillful at all… He is like Margarito, a TAD BIT faster version of margarito… He is a hillariously awkward KO just waiting to happen with those chicken legs… BUT, Williams has at least proven himself with his will power… Alexander is just a flat out BUM
Answered by The Prodigy
Wait and soon both of them will get exposed by 2 truly skilled boxers with a lot of talent, such as Martinez and Bradley are!

In my eyes,as in the eyes of many fans around the world, Williams and Alexander both lost against Martinez and Kotelnik, the reason they won is the same reason why Americans fail in most, if not all cases, of amateur international competitions as the Olympics and the same reason they rarely leave the US to fight in a neutral country.(the reason of course is that Americans fight in America exclusively in professional level, because only there they can get away with such robberies)
American boxing has been exposed big time the last 50 years in amateur level and it gets exposed more and more in professional level as well for over a decade now, that’s a fact not a personal claim and results prove it!

Anyways if a Martinez of 9 days notice only exposed Williams so badly in the first match , imagine what’s he is going to do to him now with 3 months preparation, plus Williams does not have the chin of Pavlik, he will get KO’d or TKO’d , i would be shocked if it goes to the score cards this time.

As for Alexander , Tim who is one of the very few worthy American fighters out there today (fair is fair and Tim is the man) HE WILL EMASCULATE this boy Alexander in fashion, wait and see.

PW is overrated but he did beat Martinez he just not that good to me and i think Alexander is underrated he didn’t blast Kotelnik but he won but this fight with TB will be something.

No the Jazz knew what they were doing when they chose Williams and have had much more success since selecting him, much more then the Hornets have had with Paul. I also think although Paul has led in some stats two years, not last. Paul is the best the hornets have and needs to be the main man in New Orleans, Williams does not need to be the main guy on his team with the powerful supporting cast he has on the Jazz, now my opinion is Williams is actually a better player then Paul, taking what I previously just mentioned when he has to step it up a level, i.e. Last years playoffs, or any match up Paul and Williams have had or a game when the jazz need Williams to step up he does in Jordan like fashion. Never the less both players make me excited to continue watching the NBA cause there bad A.

  2. ???!!!??? says:

No, its not about the stats. I like how both players play. Both of them pass very well and can take over games (they themselves score very well). CP3′s better but he hasn’t been in the playoffs. While Williams led the Jazz to the conference finals. I think the Question here is should Atlanta be regretting not taking Chris Paul or Deron Williams. (Atlanta had a chance to pick either of them with the 3rd overall pick, (CP3 and Williams were 4th and 5th respectively) Sorry it has no connection to your question but both of them are good. AND IT”S NOT ALWAYS ABOUT STATS.

  3. Pistons_Rule!!!!!! says:

Utah is not in a position to be regretting anything from Deron Williams. Would you regret drafting a guy who lead your team to the conference finals in only his second year, while Paul was still trying to scrap his team from the sidewalk. Williams has the potential to be a Utah great with Malone and Stockton. I have to admit that Paul is good but Utah regretting picking him is to much.
