I’m a Ricky Gervais fan, but….?
Question
..after watching his latest DVD, Science, and to a lesser extent, his previous one, Fame, I have to say I’m not finding him as funny as he used to be. His “humor” seems to have a spiteful edge to it these days. What do other Ricky Gervais fans think?
Answered by GLaDOS
How dare you question the humor of the mighty Gervais! May he smite you with his never-ending power!

I love comedy with a “spiteful edge”.
Ricky Gervais, atheism.?
Question
I’m British and I seem to have missed out on the articles he has written about atheism, it doesn’t seem to have upset anyone over here. I feel late on the uptake really.
I was so surprised and incredibly pleased at how articulate Ricky Gervais was and how he seemed to have summed up so much of I feel in an essay.
I’m not a huge fan of his stand up but I have a huge amount more respect for him now.
What are everybody else’s thoughts? Did this cause much of a stir in America?
I didn’t ask your opinion on his comedy thanks. Idiot.

It was published in Wall Street Journal.
Really interesting read.

I was only asking because he seemed to have got quite a response from the public and was actually asked to answer some of the questions that were sent in and he did.

You should rent his movie “The Invention of Lying” — it has some fun things to say about how religions get started…

no, it did not.

He’s really lame. He seems to act like he is the reincarnation of George Carlin and Bob Hope.

No. No stir in America. Books on atheism are banned here- so we didn’t know anything about it.

Enjoy.
I only saw Ricky Gervais on the Graham Norton Show. He was pretty ok. I love Graham Norton though. I can’t speak for all of America, but I’ve never read any of these articles.
I like Ricky, he’s fun ^_^ And no, it didn’t cause a stir here. Most people probably don’t know that he has written anything other than some jokes *_*
