Going to Disney World the week before Presidents day. Will it be insanely busy?

Question
Our dates are Sunday, February 8th through Sunday, February 15th. Presidents day is Monday the 16th. I’m just curious to know how busy it might be (if at all) so we can plan alternate things to do if the parks get too crazy. It’s never fun to spend the day waiting on long lines and battling crowds. Also, any ideas of some fun, romantic things to do on Valentines day? We’re staying at the Caribbean Beach Resort. Any input would be appreciated!!

well i honestly wouldnt expect it to be that bad in feb. but closer tot he weeked i suppose it would ge tmore crowded.
Answered by hilfyy
No the week before presidents week should be fine. I am going presidents week and it is always really crowded, but during, off peak weeks the parks have an average amount of people.

Going into the weekend it might be, but during the week I don’t think it should be. At any rate, it’s advisable to show up early and ride something first that will have a long line later in the day, plus get Fast Passes for the other big rides while you’re at it. In the middle of the day, take in some of the rides or attractions with smaller lines. Study the park maps, you might find something you didn’t even know existed.

Animal Kingdom and Epcot are good parks for taking in atmosphere. Just stroll around and look at the animals, the countries in Epcot, and the science exhibits. These are things everyone can enjoy at their leisure, not the type of thing you have to wait in line for. Disney has it laid out pretty nicely, if you really think about it.

It will get busy on that Thursday before the weekened starts. The parks will be very busy, full capacity the weekened before Presidents Day.

Presidents’ Day Crowds at Disney – Help needed?

Question
We are planning to arrive in Orlando February 8th 2008, leaving on the 18th. Will we run into Presidents’ Day problems with terrible lines or will we be ok? Is it a decent time to go? We have UK holidays at this time and at Easter, which seems much worse.

Any Holiday at Disney is crowded, also I dont know if you know it but I think your week also coincides with Speed Week at Daytona, the parks are usually a bit more crowded this part of February because families go to Disney before and after the Big Race..check out Tour Guide Mikes Web site, for a small fee he can recommend strategies to maximize your time
Answered by fittobedyed
check out http://www.touringplans.com they have a crowd calendar there that can give an idea of what the crowds will be like. We went presidents week a few years ago and it was quite crowded, but it felt manageable.

Are the crowds at Disney horrible the week of Presidents Day at Disney..we are going that week in 2009?

Question
Answered by Matt F
Usually holiday weekends are busy. However the last time I went during February it was not as crowded as I expected (this was in 2006).

Nope not at all, a horrible week would be right now at Disney.. its a good time to go President day. Great weather
Answered by tourderenee
It could be crowded. Cast members are blocked out from 2 of 4 parks that weekend which leads me to believe that it will be bad

But, get there early when the gates open and do the park how you want it and call 407-wdw-info for up the minute info on what parks are letting people in and what not

Answered by Daddy Disney
it will be busy, but the weather will be incredible, and you won’t be in Michigan

Yes it will most likely be extremely busy. I would recommend using the fast pass option while there.
