what do you think of my essay.as far as punctuation goes.any suggestions?

Question
As far as the jealousy goes that is a partial reason why the world does hate us, but that is not the reason why we are in war. In other countries or allies etc.. they do not have what the United states do. The things that this country has and others don’t could be looked at wrong to other countries. For example here in the United States everything is big. We have wide streets, massive houses, estates are endless, and expansion unchecked and carefree. It is assumed that large houses are a result of a selfish and indulgent consumption of fuel. Europe is becoming very short of living space, so luxurious “waste” of space and short sightedness is assumed. One big example of other countries looking at us in a bad way is MTV Cribs. In this show they have some of the biggest houses on the earth. This gives of a bad reputation of the United States. Another thing people view us by is in the US pop culture. Gangster rap usually raps about cruel, sexual or racial things. When you visit other parts of the world you realize their music is much different and not so sinful. Schoolbooks, youth organizations, radio, movies, TV, newspapers, official holidays spread the vicious and preposterous lies about life in the United States. Declassified files in former Soviet Union show shows KGB and related organizations spent hundreds of millions of dollars to spread the same lies in the west hiring countless agents of disinformation to communicate that America is cruel, corrupt, racist, exploitative, militaristic, and religiously fanatical society whose very existence menaces “People’s Republics” everywhere. Our country is also known for corporal punishment, lack of health system, and illiteracy homeless demographics. Our rape crimes and violence crimes are the highest in the world. I wonder though why is it that we have the highest violence and crime rates? I believe that it cannot be because of the tv that we watch because, other countries watch some violent movies as well. Is it because of our freedom that we have? Do people take too much pride of our freedom and think they can do whatever they want? I don’t know if this is correct as well because we have a thing called jail in the United States. I could understand why others would see us as a out of control country at times, but I think they should actually see for them selves before making any complete thoughts.

The United States is however very successful. It is to be known in most cases that the most powerful or successful is to be most hated. This is out of jealousy. Other parts of the world tend to think we are very conceded of this fact. Yes we are the most powerful people in the world but others think that our government does some things that are pretty stupid. Other governments find things unacceptable such as our pollution, environment, and arms race. This is to be viewed as appalling, immature and short sided. One example of showing of how our government looks bad to others is an opinion poll I found while researching. The poll I found shows half the German population that was openly critical of United States leadership for a number of reasons. The reasons were, its failure to consult its allies as promised, refusal to sign up to joint action against global warming, and its protectionist stance on trade issues such as steel and agriculture. Most Americans do not know of such things. I did not know my self that our government refuses joint action on global warming. This however makes me upset because I strongly support global warming. Another thing I found while researching was a brief survey of why Americans think the world hates us. 26% had said it was because of our democracy and freedom. 22% said it was because of our support for Israel. 20% said it was our values and way of life. 17% said our influence on the economy and lives of Middle Eastern countries. 11% said our economic and military power. American hatred has increased over the last 15 years and our country has been playing the more destructive role in the world since the conclusion of the cold war.

Let’s see. Punctuation….None? You didn’t indent any paragraph, you have about 5000 run-on-sentences, you’re capitalizing wrong, and unfortunately, your writing is simply atrocious. “As far as the jealousy goes that is a partial reason why the world does hate us”. What kind of opening to an essay is that? Get back to the drawing board.

This is a very moving research Paper, but first replying person didn’t see good punctuation anywhere because your first few sentences are poorly written. You, first impressions.

Why are we at war? Though the world is jealous of many of our wealthy citizens noting that the United States does not seem to have to answer to any power, and we flaunt and use our power to control world events without thought to the benefit of all humankind, some of the jealousy is misplaced.
The United States, as a country, did enjoy more freedom throughout it’s history than many other countries have, and it still does have some of the most expansive yards surrounding even a poor man’s humble dwelling, that is only one luxury. There are many other things that American poor actually do not have, that are in place in other countries.
So, why is America so despised? What are the things that bother other peoples of the Earth?

As for punctuation, please note that when you have a natural pause in speaking, you should have a period or comma. To end a sentence with a period, it should have a subject (doer) and a verb (actions) along with what is being done.
Words like that, and, or, and other linking words should have commas just before the special word that links them.

When a sentence doesn’t start with the subject, you should also have a comma in the middle where the main claus is identified by the second Subject and Verb. Words like When, If, and other such beginning words are a hint that you have such a two part claus sentence.

Answered by dee
Oh How Scary !! In the future you need to call or search the net for the Business Bureau. There are so many scams out there. I got one from Fla. one time and I sent a e-mail to the Govenors Office and told them what was going on. They e-mailed me back and Thanked me and they told me they knew of this and was trying to catch this person. I just wanted other people to be aware.
Answered by surfer grl
I am sorry about that, and I do not know who to tell except the police and let them investigate from there if they want to. I just want to thank you for this question tho. I have received the same e-mail. Be careful out there is all I can say.
Answered by Ryoung
Never open an email unless you know the person or institution – delete them as soon as possible. I have been reading about the counterfeit checks and money orders and people in the US are getting ripped off. There is also a telephone scam coming from out of state, telling you relatives are ill and one call cost you over $ 2,000. Do not trust unless you know the person or institution.

Never EVER, give one iota of credibilty to the hundreds of thousands of phishing scams attacking us on a daily basis.

All they’re looking for is a few bits of info (banks, address, S.S.# etc.)

Believe me, there is not one, (ZERO NADA NIL NOUGHT ZILCH) South African/Mediterranean/Jordanian or Egyptian royal in need of filtering money thru the states via some 3rd party they’ve never met.

When in doubt visit the “inboxer rebellion” forum at Snopes:

NO ONE will send you money for simply clicking a link, or forwarding a chain letter. Not Bill Gates, not the Coca’Cola Co., and definitely not Disney, AOL or Old Navy.

Penny Brown, Kelsey Brooke Jones, Shawn Hornbeck, Chyanne Josephine, are NOT missing.,
It would do no good to send them money.

Nor is there a Russian boy named Sergei, that needs your money. Or girl named Rachel Arlington, in need of an operation her parents can’t afford..
And Suzanne Cramsey doesn’t need medical and financial assistance to treat her rare spider bite.

Would letting him go to jail help to show him that drinking is not the answer??

Question
I have a brother 4 years older then me and I am constantly getting him out of trouble with the cops. I have put out so much money on his problem that I can’t do it anymore. He knows that he is looking at 4 years in jail with all his DUI’s. He has a court order stating that he is not allowed to drink at all. He’s not driving at least but he won’t even slack off drinking. He is drinking his self to death.
He is a pipefitter by trade and his Union won’t even try to get him a job. He has been fired off of so many job sites. I had to fire him from the company that I worked for when I got him a job there. It was that or possibly let him hurt someone else and hurt the company.
Anyway, I am wondering if I am hurting him more then I am helping him. Should I just say welcome to the real world and let him deal with his own problems? I’ve tried everything. He has been in ReHab 2 times. He has done weekends in jail. He has lost his kids. Nobdy can or will hire him.
Would JAIL Help????
Answered by KA
I think it would hurt more than help. He needs some counseling.
Answered by Brandy T
This has gone on way too long, much longer than it should have. As long as you continue to bail him out of his problems, you are enabling him. Time for a little ‘tough love.’ Don’t bail him out anymore.
Answered by ideratherbefishin
Yes, it will help and give him time to “dry out” which is what he needs. Although you are trying in your heart to help him you are actually enabling him by keeping him out of the trouble he deserves. He needs to get the reactions for his actions and find accountability…..this won’t happen if you continue to be his crutch. Tough love sucks don’t it…..
Answered by deedee
Stop helping him and let him fine out how the real world is you have done all you can. he is putting you down too. Sometimes enable a person does not mean they will change.
give yourself some dictance and see what happens.
you can still love him but don’t help him anymore.

Be very careful of these. The most famous of these are the Nigerian scams. Some of the scammed people were killed because the con artists claimed they wanted to meet them in person. Forward all types of emails like this to the Fraud unit for the FBI.

it sounds to me like maybe some real time in jail might just wake him up. He will probably be mad at you at first, and try to blame you for letting him go, but it will be the best thing that you can do for him. It does not sound like he really cares all that much, and with each time you bale him out, he has learned to expect it. He needs to grow up and become a man, and it almost sounds like jail is the only way for this to happen. Don’t feel bad about it, lord knows you have tried, just let it happen and someday he will thank you for it… Good luck…

  3. Liz C. says:

Jail would disipline him and after his 4 years in jail you can take him to a place where they help people to live without alcohol even if it looks like you’re hurting him you’re not.

  4. softlyinspired says:

I know it hurts you to see your brother in this condition, but actually i think it is hurting him more by you always picking up the pieces he leaves behind. He is a typical alcoholic and I am telling you as long as you are there to bail him out, he is going to keep right up with his destructive behavior. You seem like a good hearted person and usually that is what keeps them going….they drain you of emotional and financial resources and they continue to destroy themselves. I would suggest you sit down with him and tell him there will be nomore bailing him out of his messes. Tell him you love him and will be happy to support any effort he makes to go and get some help, but make it clear you will no longer be his safetynet. I know it breaks your heart and you love him which is obvious, but he has to be made to take responsibility for his life and his actions. I can’t say if he will ever get his act together, because he has to really want to be clean and sober; but I don’t want you to be left hurting and feeling like you helped him along with his destruction. That is why you have to allow him to deal with the consequences of his behavior. Just realize you have done all you can and have no reason to feel guilty or bad about anything. He is lucky he has had you to fall back on, but now it’s time for you to back away and let brother grow up and be the adult he should be. I will keep you both in my prayers. One more thing……..do not approach him with your intentions of letting him deal with this himself until you are sure you are ready to stop enabling him. I say this because…..if you tell him you aren’t going to put up with it anymore and then you give in later, you will have lost all credibility and he will not take you seriously! Good luck and I pray it all works out for both of you.
