So there’s a bunch of stuff. I am also considering getting into the sci-fi genres a little more after seeing how much I loved Firefly but don’t know what one I should get into (battlestar galactica, star trek, etc.) Thanks for all your suggestions!!
Thanks for all the suggestions!!
Scrubs – Hate it. idk why but i do.
Prison Break & 24 – I’ll definitely consider those two
Glee – I watch it with the girlfriend. little lame but whatever.
Bruno – forgot about that one ill watch it soon
Two and a half men – i’ve seen a couple, I guess i could give it or take it
Blind Side – I’ve only heard good things, i’ll pick it up for a date night
Funny Face – I’ve watched every movie you suggested but I would rate all of them 5 stars. you def know my tastes ![]()
Well with the exception of that 70′s show. another one i could give or take
Criminal Minds – after looking at other peoples questions for what shows to watch this one and lie to me usually popped up together, might give those a go.
Ruth – I saw madea’s family reunion and wasn’t a fan so since then I’ve kind of shied away from tyler perry’s work. Maybe I should give him a second chance. The good Shepard I thought was extremely slow (same with Benjamin button)
Movies: Step Bros (don’t touch my drum kit!!!!)

Please tell me the name of the movie?
It’s with Vin Diesel.
It’s shot in Czech Republic
2.He didn’t work for the FBI..it was a secret government agency
3.The girl wasn’t a Mafia daughter…she was an undercover agent herself
4.He didn’t pretend to shoot his best friend…he shot a Russian cop…with a “blood bullet”.

Why don’t some people like John Woo?
“A Better Tomorrow” (1986) – Starring Chow Yun-Fat, Ti Lung, and Leslie Cheung. Plot: A reforming ex-gangster tries to reconcile with his estranged policeman brother, but the ties to his former gang are difficult to break. This movie revolutionized Hong Kong cinema, made Chow Yun-Fat and John Woo famous, and created the Heroic Bloodshed genre which is a genre of Hong Kong action cinema revolving around stylized action sequences and dramatic themes such as brotherhood, duty, honor, redemption and violence. It also spawned two sequels which are good but not better than the first.
“The Killer” (1989) Starring Chow Yun-Fat, Danny Lee, and Sally Yeh. Plot: A disillusioned assassin accepts one last hit in hopes of using his earnings to restore vision to a singer he accidentally blinded, only to be double-crossed by his boss. This movie is very melodramatic yet extraordinary with it’s violent gunplay and it’s dove symbolism.
“Bullet in the Head” (1990) Starring Tony Leung, Jacky Cheung, and Waise Lee. Plot: When three close friends escape from Hong Kong to war-time Saigon to start a criminal’s life, they all go through a harrowing experience which totally shatters their lives and their friendship forever. This film is very emotional, powerful, and sorrowful. It’s considered to be John Woo’s best film.
“Hard-Boiled” (1992) Starring Chow Yun-Fat and Tony Leung. Plot: A tough-as-nails cop teams up with an undercover agent to shut down a sinister mobster and his crew. This movie doesn’t have a lot of drama but it has a lot of nonstop and fantastic action. It has some of the best action scenes ever filmed. This made John Woo very popular in the west and has influenced a lot of Hollywood films such as “The Matrix” and video games like “Max Payne”.
Again as I said before, his Hong Kong films are better than his American flicks. So try to watch these films because it will change your mind and opinion on Woo. John Woo is a genius. He creates a bond between action and drama. He creates the unforgettable action sequences and the story/character driven action that we see in his films. He inspired many and change the face of action. Even if you don’t watch action movies, you’ll still love John Woo’s films because of the story and drama that’s implemented in the film. John Woo is my favorite director and he is a legend.
I tried to watch Hard Boiled but simply could not stomach the violence.
‘ The Killer’ is one of my favorite movies of all time. I think maybe, Woo gives a reason for this dislike in his commentary for ‘The Killer.’ He makes it very clear he didn’t like the way Hollywood operated when he was working for the studios. He was quite disappointed that so much time was wasted in meetings. It was funny when he pointed out that the first few months of production is spent in meetings with people who only wanted to prove they could do it. He said he could have made a complete movie in Hong Kong in the time American movie makers waste on meetings. Also he was surprised that the ‘star’ actors have so much control over how a movie is made, such as having a say in who is cast in a movie, final word on the ecript, etc. In Hong Kong only the director has that power and he found that a chore to get used to. He was unhappy making movies for the American studios. His efforts were continually undermined by people who had power over the making of the movie that he didn’t feel was necessary.
Very enlightening commentary from him, even though he was very polite in expressing these opinions.
