Giants made out better. Chargers would be a lot better with Eli. Rivers is a joke for arm strength.

I’d say the Chargers got the good end of that deal. I would take Merriman over Eli straight up. Eli is average at best, he got hot at the right time, but that will end this weekend

episode 13 season 5 – they looked back at all the times the handy man has helped them over the years, showing scenes set in previous series like a long time ago. were these scenes filmed ages ago like at the actual times they happened or were they re created recently just by using makeup and extra actors etc??
i’m not sure! i havent watched every single early episode and so i guess maybe some scenes were actually from them?…

I think some of that was reused scenes, and some were probably recreated with makeup and hair changes to make them look younger. Shows do that all the time with special flashback episodes.

they were recreated scenes, because I watched every episode and those scenes did not occur in any of them . the character (handy man) did not exist until that episode 13 season 5. it was our first introduction of him. so eli shruggs was a new character and the scenes involving him were new also.

I am a die hard Dallas Cowboy fan but the facts are this Eli has a ring Romo Mcnabb and Campbell dont which makes Eli the best quarterback in the NFC East by virtue of that however I was wondering who all thinks Eli will suffer a post super bowl jinx and fall off this year or will continue to be red hot into this year.

Honestly, it still looks like the Chargers made out better overall. Rivers is playing at the level of Eli presently, however Eli has been hot the last few games. Plus, the Chargers got Merriman in that deal and he has been a solid addition to their defense. Eli may prove to be the better QB, but currently Rivers stats are not that far off and throw in Merriman, the Chargers got the better deal.
That question should pretty much answer itself.
Chargers got Keading, Merriman and Rivers in that deal plus conditional draft picks.

I think both teams made out fine , I am a die-hard Giants fan and I was actually PO’ed with the maneuver they did to get Manning. I thought then and even now that Phillip Rivers is an excellent QB .

The Giants. The Chargers already had Breese who is better than Rivers anyway but they are both keading to conference championships the difference is Eli is going to win.
The Chargers. I think right now Eli is as good as Rivers to their team, as a QB. Now as a personality Rivers is an idiot, but that isn’t about his playing. I’m not saying who is better either, I’m saying going by the team they are on I think they are about even. So the Chargers made out by getting the draft picks. I really think they have to be considered when you say who got the better deal.
Well to start I am not really a fan of either team.
I think that if Eli played for the Chargers, it would have been worse both for Eli and for the Chargers. If he’s somewhere where he doesn’t want to be, it’s definitely not going to facilitate him playing at his best.
Even if he decided he was OK playing for the Chargers, they would have lost Brees earlier, and it was definitely Brees who took the Chargers to the next level. Even though the Chargers are still formidable with Rivers, I really don’t think the team would have had any confidence to get there without the Brees year. At the NFL level where all the players are so good, confidence and swagger can separate playoff teams from fringe teams that always seem to squeak into the playoffs or barely miss them.
That said, the Giants did get a serviceable QB, which in itself makes Eli not a total bust, even though he certainly is showing himself to be much less of a QB than his brother. Eli is still young, though, and can still get better, especially as he gets more confident and tougher. It addressed a need for the Giants, and now both teams are in the conference championship game.

not a good game. but its ridiculously funny if you ask me. at the beginning. everyone was ripping on him for saying he was elite. then he had epic comebacks against good teams. and ironically, it was him, not the running game or the defense that kept the giants in the playoff hunt. and last week, all the giants fans were saying how great he was for the comeback. now he has 1 bad game and everyones on his d*ck again. caughlin is leaving after this season. he was suppose to be fired after the 2007 season, but he and the giants won the super bowl so he got a 3 or 4 year extension on his contract. but blown playoff berths and weak finishes arent anything new for him. its been going on since his tenure. now im a cowboys fan, but i do like eli somewhat.
I still think he will be a good enough team to lead the Giants to the playoffs as a Wild Card team.
